Ninja Slayer From Animation Global Streaming, 2016 TV Broadcast Announced!

Ninja Slayer dashes across the world; streaming to begin spring 2015; anime broadcast slated for 2016

Information continues to be released for Ninja Slayer From Animation, which has been a talked-about anime since production was first announced. The source material for Ninja Slayer is a “cyberpunk ninja action novel” by Bradley Bond and Philip N. Morzez. The series became a trending topic during its serialization on Twitter, and an anime adaptation has been confirmed. This as well is gathering attention for Trigger, the studio behind Kill la Kill, being in charge of animation production.

This time, two visuals have been released along with staff details and more information on the series. A surprise announcement is that the anime will be streamed globally ahead of the start of its TV broadcast. It will be available on 11 sites total including Nico Nico Douga, Nico Nico Live, dAnime, and Bandai Channel. It has been confirmed that global streaming will begin on April 16, with the first time to see it in Japan being at 11:00 p.m. on Nico Nico Douga.

Five members of the cast have been announced, beginning with character designer Hiroyuki Imaishi. Imaishi is known for directing such anime as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. In charge of character designs for sub-characters including Clone Yakuza is Yusuke Yoshigaki, who has also been in charge of character designs on works in the Japan Anima(tor) Expo headed by Trigger. Saitom has been appointed to design the schoolgirl ninja Yamoto Koki, Serere Inato is designing journalist Nancy Lee, and Jiro Shin is designing Dragon Yukano.

Other staff members include Akira Amemiya as series composer and Yutaka Sato as writer. Music for the anime is being handled by Shinichi Osawa, who has created music for many artists including Namie Amuro and Ayumi Hamasaki, and Team-Max’s Kenji Fujisawa, an active figure in anime music.

Ninja Slayer is set to dash across the world, with streaming planned for over 30 countries including the U.S., Canada, and England. The TV broadcast has already been confirmed as well. It will begin broadcasting in Japan in 2016. Through the modernistic approach being used, the anime will be streamed roughly a year before the TV broadcast.

With a stage event also planned for AnimeJapan 2015, excitement for the series is already building. Look forward to more information to come.
