In a big surprise announcement, a TV anime adaptation of Blood Blockade Battlefront was announced on Nov. 4, and now the broadcast schedule is already being released as well. The anime will begin broadcasting in April 2015. Though there is still roughly four months until the broadcast begins, the official site opened on Nov. 4 as well. Information on the anime will be announced there.
The first big new is the cast. This news only pertains to those voice stars who have worked on the series thus far, but playing Klaus, the leader of Libra, is Rikiya Koyama, playing Leonard is Daisuke Sakaguchi, playing Zap is Kazuya Nakai, and playing Sonic Speed Monkey is Yuuma Uchida. However, there are still more than 10 big names on the cast whose official roles have yet to be determined. We’ll have to wait for more information.
There are many events also in store to promote the broadcast. A stage event will also be held on Dec. 20 and 21 at Jump Festa 2015. On stage on Dec. 20 will be series author Yasuhiro Nightow, Rikiya Koyama, and Daisuke Sakaguchi, and Rie Kugimiya will join them on stage on Dec. 21.
A web radio show is also set to begin. Distribution for the show, titled TV Anime Kekkai Sensen Wazana wo Sakende kara Naguru Radio, will begin on Dec. 4 on the Internet radio station, Onsen.
Blood Blockade Battlefront is a popular series by Yasuhiro Nightow that is currently serializing in Jump SQ. 19 (Shueisha). The story takes place in Jerusalem’s Lot, formerly New York City, the site of a portal that links the present world to another dimension, and depicts the secret operations of a society called Libra that fights to preserve the world’s balance.
The director is making a spirited anime adaptation of Blood Blockade Battlefront, the official site has been re-opened, and a key visual has been released that shows a group of the members of the secret society Libra. The wonderful staff is worth mentioning as well. Directing is the energetic, young director Rie Matsumoto, Kazunao Furuya is the scriptwriter, Toshihiro Kawamoto is the character designer, and Shinji Kimura is the art director. Producing the animation is Bones.
