AnimeJapan 2015, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from March 20-22, 2015, has announced new projects and festivities. Among them is one that is likely to be bathed in attention by anime fans: an event held on March 20, 2015 at Zepp Tokyo in Odaiba, Tokyo called AnimeJapan Night (tentative name). This ticketed event will be held the day before the main event kicks off. Zepp Tokyo, the location of the nighttime event, is also close to Tokyo Big Sight, the venue for AnimeJapan 2015. Though details about the event have not yet been announced, since it is one of the largest anime events in Japan, expectations are high.
A new Anime+ Stage will also be set up at the venue. Here, content with a close connection to anime, such as Anime+ Music and Anime+ Radio, will be featured and the possibilities of anime will be conveyed.
Activities for the family area have also been announced. The family area, an area limited to children and their parents or guardians, will be set up in the East Exhibition Building, Hall 6. Here, there will be a new exclusive entrance, and plenty for children elementary school age and younger to enjoy. At the Kids’ Anime Studio, children will be able to experience anime production through a formal workshop. The Play Corner will be themed after a temple festival related to a popular anime. Moreover, there will be mascot shows and screenings of popular works on the Family Stage.
One characteristic of the 2015 event is likely to be the strengthening of its business relations. The biggest difference over last year’s event will be the creation of a business area. On March 20 and 21, the many businesses attending from inside Japan and abroad will turn the conference hall into a place of information and business opportunities.
In an attempt to promote attendance to the event, invitation cards to exhibit in the business area were sent to businesses. Judging from the fact that the 2015 event has been extended from two days to three days including a weekday, there’s no doubt things are looking up. The page for exhibitor applications will open on the official site for AnimeJapan 2015 on Oct. 20. There is still about five months to go until the event, but things are finally starting to pick up for AnimeJapan 2015.
