The romance adventure game Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete released in 2010 is getting an anime adaptation. This made headlines when it was first announced in late 2013, but since then information had stopped. Now, new information on the broadcast, staff, and cast have been revealed. It was announced that the broadcast will begin this October.
The main staff includes Naoto Honda as director, Rie Kawamata as series composer, and Ikuo Yamakado as character designer. The anime is being produced by Feel whose other works include Futsū no Joshikōsei ga Locodol Yattemita and Outbreak Company.
A highlight of the cast is the appointment of Takuma Terashima, who wasn’t a part of the original work, as main character Sō Akiyama. Terashima is a popular voice actor who has played main characters in many series including Uta no Prince-sama, so this will likely draw anticipation from fans. Other cast members include Hatsumi Takada, Akane Tomonaga, Kei Mizusawa, Tomoe Tamiyasu, and Satomi Sato.
In addition to the broadcast beginning this October, the official site has reopened and the official Twitter has launched. These can be checked for the latest information. The series will also be exhibited during the 3-day event Comic Market 86 to be held from Aug. 15-17. Original goods from the series will be sold at the Toranoana booth. A limited number of freebies will also be given out, so make sure to check these out if you’re going.
The story of Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete revolves around a final school culture festival to be held at an old school building before it’s closed down and the school is moved to a newly constructed school building. Main character Sō Akiyama is a member of the Astronomy Club and is tasked with investigating the mysterious things that begin happening in the old building to quell students’ anxieties. With the entire school relying on them, Sō and the rest of the club endure a hard struggle to ensure a flawless final culture festival.
