On June 16, Square Enix announced the Nintendo 3DS game Final Fantasy Explorers.
To date, Final Fantasy games have been RPGs, but this game takes a new step forward for the series as an action RPG. In addition to four-player multiplayer using the 3DS’ WiFi functionality, the game also features a job system and summon abilities that are familiar to the series. There are four basic jobs available in the game––Knight, Monk, Black Mage, and White Mage––but other well-known jobs from the series will be introduced as well. A New Story of Woven Bonds: Final Fantasy Explorers Release Announced
Square Enix (headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; CEO: Yosuke Matsuda) has announced the Nintendo 3DS game Final Fantasy Explorers.
The Final Fantasy series has always been in the RPG genre, but this game takes the series into a new genre. That genre is action RPG.
The game supports up to four-player multiplayer using the Nintendo 3DS’ WiFi functionality. Working over your party’s tactics, developing a solid strategy, and clearing quests is the epitome of this game. It also implements many nostalgic elements from the series––including the summon ability, monsters, and the job system. Of course, the game is plenty of fun even in single player so the development team is diligently working on it so that previous RPG fans will be fully satisfied.
