The TV anime Glasslip will begin broadcasting this July. Now, the main cast to this anime, information to which has been kept under wraps until now, has been announced.
Playing Touko Fukami, the daughter of a glassworker who is a Hinodehama High third year student and member of the art club, is Seria Fukagawa. Playing her friends are Saori Hayami as Yanagi Takayama, Risa Taneda as Sachi Nagamiya, Ryota Ohsaka as Kakeru Okikura, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Yukinari Imi, and Daiki Yamashita as Hiro Shorosaki. It seems they will all be playing third year students in the midst of their adolescence.
Glasslip is an original anime by P.A. Works, which is based in Toyama Prefecture. Until now, the studio has created anime set in their hometown as well as Hanasaku Iroha set in Ishikawa Prefecture. Now, with their new work being set in Fukui Prefecture, they have animated all three prefectures in the Hokuriku region.
Directing the anime is Junji Nishimura of True Tears fame. The assistant director is Takebumi Anzai and the series composer and writer is Rika Sato, who debuted in Tari Tari. The main staff is full of young, fresh faces.
A production presentation will also be held on May 25 in Mikuni, Sakai, Fukui Prefecture which serves as the setting of the anime. Those interested can sign up to attend on the official site. Of those who sign up, 350 people will be invited to attend.
