It has been decided that the latest works in Nisio Isin’s Monogatari series, Owarimonogatari (Vol. 3) and Anime Monogatari Series Heroine Books Vol. 5: Senjougahara Hitagi, will both be released on April 3.
Owarimonogatari (Vol. 3) depicts the conclusion of the battle between the protagonist Koyomi Araragi and the mysterious transfer student Ougi Oshino. Chronologically, the story takes place right after Koyomimonogatari. The book will cost ¥1,500 (tax not included). Its sequel, Zokuowarimonogatari, is planned to release this summer. This is expected to segway into the series finale.
Anime Monogatari Series Heroine Books is a mook series that focuses on the heroines of the TV anime Monogatari Series Second Season one by one. Volume 5 features Hitagi Senjougahara, the heroine from the first story, Bakemonogatari. The cover illustration of Hitagi with an impressive cold gaze was drawn for the occasion by character designer Akio Watanabe. The design on the opening page is an illustration novel titled Hitagi Throwing drawn by Vofan, who illustrated the original works by Nisio Isin. It depicts the junior high years of Hitagi and reveals the secret story of the forming of the Valhalla Combo.
The book also features an interview with Chiwa Saito, the voice actor who plays Hitagi, and a Q&A from Shinichiro Miki, who plays Deishu Kaiki. The dialogue section records the first conversation between Nisio Isin and Naoshi Komi, a mangaka whose manga Nisekoi: Fake Love is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. The two of them whose works have both been adapted into anime talk about the charms of Shaft works.
Including the “ED Theme Artwork Gallery & Special Hitagi Illustrations” by Hajime Ueda and
the “Hitagi Chronicle & Illustration Gallery” containing the most famous Hitagi-scenes, this is a highly dense book. It will be sold for ¥900 (tax not included).
