Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou will begin airing on TBS and BS-TBS in April 2014. It is based on Ruri Miyahara’s popular manga currently running in Young King OURs. The anime version has brought together a talented team for its cast and crew.
Yūichi Iguchi, who has previously played major roles on series such as Gaist Crusher, will take on the role of the protagonist, male high school student Kazunari Usa. The heroine Ritsu Kawai will be played by Kana Hanazawa, who has also been cast in several other series in 2014, including Tonari no Seki-kun. Their interactions are sure to be a highlight of the series.
Additional cast members include Rina Satō as Mayumi Nishikino, Gō Shinomiya as Shirosaki, Hisako Kanemoto as Sayaka Watanabe, and Sanae Kobayashi as Sumiko. They will bring the distinct personalities of the residents of Kawaisou to life.
Shigeyuki Miya from such series as Buzzer Beater and Lupin III: Green vs. Red has joined as director, and Kenji Koneta from Ace of Diamond will be in charge of series composition. The two have previously worked together on Blood Lad, and it seems like we can expect great things from this series.
The series has also brought on Shinichi Kurita and Maki Kouno as character designers, as well as Junko Yamanaka for guest character design. The visuals by these three energetic animators will be something to pay attention to. The animation will be produced by Brain’s Base.
An event will be held at AnimeJapan on March 23, right before the series premieres. Scheduled to appear as panelists are Yūichi Iguchi, Kana Hanazawa, Rina Satō, Gō Shinomiya, and Hisako Kanemoto.
Kazunari Usa starts his long-awaited life away from his family and moves into the Kawaisou boarding house where his crush from school Ritsu Kawai lives. Though he has high hopes for a fun life in high school, he finds the other residents of Kawaisou leave something to be desired... Will Usa be able to lead the high school life he's hoped for?
