On Jan. 15, the Nintendo 3DS manga creation software Comic Studio from Collavier became available on the Nintendo eShop. It costs ￥800.
Panel layout, rough sketches, inking––the program allows users to make a manga from start to finish. It’s even loaded with templates. In addition to this, you can convert photos to monochrome for use as backgrounds and use the “Korokoro” feature to add tones to them.
A variety of lines can be drawn, from thin 1-pixel lines to fat lines, and there’s also anti-aliasing. Works can be a maximum size of 896 x 896 pixels. The program also supports colors. Creations can be saved to an SD card as JPEG images.
