On Jan. 9, the second season of the TV anime Silver Spoon began broadcasting on Fuji TV and other networks. The anime is based on a manga of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. Being a graduate of an agricultural high school, Arakawa created Silver Spoon as a coming of age story set in the farmlands. It has picked up popularity for its realistic portrayals. The first season of the TV anime ran from July to September 2013. Now, Yugo and friends’ daily lives are being newly depicted in the second season.
Along with the start of the second season, there is a new opening theme. That song is “Life” by Fujifabric. On Feb. 12, this song will be released as a new single. Also, linking up with the start of the TV anime’s broadcast, the cover jacket for the single has been released and more details have been announced. Three versions of the single will be released: a first-run limited edition (¥1,800), limited edition (¥1,365), and regular edition (¥1,223. All prices include tax.). The first-run limited edition includes an 8-page jacket of exclusive photos and a live CD of seven select tracks from the Zepp Tokyo show of their Fab Step tour.
Anime fans are likely curious about the limited edition. This version comes in a Digipak specially illustrated by Jun Nakai, character designer on Silver Spoon. The CD also includes the TV size version of the anime’s opening theme. This one is recommended for fans who are moved by the anime.
Coming ahead of the release of the single for “Life,” a truetone of the song was released in advance simultaneously on Recochoku and all other distribution sites on Jan. 10. The song can also be heard on-air for the first time on the radio program “Yamada Hisashi’s Radio Unlimited F.”
In April, Fujifabric will also be celebrating their 10th anniversary. From June to July, they will be holding four shows in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka for their Fujifabric 2014 tour. Schedules for each of these shows and details on guest performers will be announced soon so look forward to it.
