NIGO, appointed as creative director of T-shirt brand UT by Uniqlo, presents his first collection for 2014 SS.
UT was founded in 2003. For its 10th anniversary, it goes back to basics. The style of the basic T-shirt has been updated by using tubular knitted fabric to create a round body without seams under the arms. Graphic prints and materials in modern taste were carefully selected for the designs.
35 styles of graphics were created in collaboration with: Disney, Peanuts, Sanrio, Line Friends, The Simpsons (first appearance), Jonathan Adler, Lisa Larson, UNSODO and Schwinn to name a few. Approx. 1,000 types of designs incorporating NIGO’s vintage style and use of prints will be sold.
A must for Sanrio fans is a graphic tee introducing Hello Kitty dressed up as My Melody. The image of the two characters was newly created for this collection.
Items are priced between 990 yen to 2,990 yen. Tees, tank tops and sweats are available. Some of the items are already lined up, but the full collection will be in stores from next Feb/Mar.
