Broadcast details for the previously announced anime adaptation of Riddle Story of Devil has been revealed. The anime will begin in spring 2014. At the same time, information on the full cast was announced. A voice cast has been picked that suits the world of the original work.
Ayaka Suwa was chosen as the voice of the main character, Tokaku Azuma. Suwa has also voiced Miki Kanzaki from Yowamushi Pedal and Ruri Ninjabayashi from the upcoming anime Kanojo ga Flag o Oraretara. Hisako Kanemoto will be voicing the heroine, Haru Ichinose. Kanemoto is a veteran whose experience includes work on the series Squid Girl! and voicing Cure Peace from Smile PreCure. Voicing Kaiba-sensei and Mizorogi-sensei, teachers at Myōjō Academy, are Tomokazu Sugita and Takahiro Sakurai, respectively. Both are popular seiyū who have voiced main characters in many works. For Tomokazu, this includes The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and for Takahiro, Mononoke and Bakemonogatari.
Other members of the cast include Yoshino Nanjō as Nio Hashiri, Azumi Asakura as Isuke Inukai, Fumiko Uchimura as Haruki Sagae, Mami Uchida as Hitsugi Kirigaya, Sachika Misawa as Chitaru Namatame, Mahiru Banba as Sachika Misawa, Miho Arakawa as Sumireko Hanabusa, Haruka Yoshimura as Kōko Kaminaga, Chika Anzai as Suzu Shutō, Manami Numakura as Otoya Takechi, and Yuki Yamada as Shiena Kenmochi. The wonderful cast’s passion is worth taking note of.
The original work for Riddle Story of Devil is a manga currently serialized in Monthly Newtype. It is authored by Yun Kōga and illustrated Sunao Minakata.
Staff on the anime adaptation includes Keizō Kusakawa of Day Break Illusion fame as director, Kiyoko Yoshimura of Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing fame as series composer and writer, and Naomi Ide of Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren’t They? fame as character designer and chief animation director. The anime is being produced by Diomedia, the same company that made Squid Girl! and Lotte no Omocha.
