The release date for the Blu-ray and DVD of the movie The Garden of Sinners: Gospel in the Future, which sparked wild enthusiasm in fans once more when it released in theaters earlier this fall on Sept. 28, has been announced. Four items will release all at once on Feb. 19, 2014: the limited edition of the Blu-ray and DVD, the regular edition of the DVD, and the regular edition of Gospel in the Future: Extra Chorus. Even though this announcement comes just two months after the film’s theatrical release, it’s safe to say that it’s still been a long wait for fans.
The film series so far for The Garden of Sinners has become popular with fans due to its artisticness. The newest film in the series, Gospel in the Future, doesn’t compromise on this point either.
The version of the film to take note of above all else is the limited edition. The Blu-ray and DVD each come with two discs for the film and two music CDs for a voluminous four-disc set. Included in this edition are both Gospel in the Future and Gospel in the Future: Extra Chorus. On the CD side, one is an original soundtrack featuring music from composer Yuki Kajiura. Fans can fully enjoy the world of The Garden of Sinners through Kajiura’s emotional compositions. The other is a drama CD featuring a story from creator Kinoko Nasu’s novel The Garden of Oblivion. Each bonus offers much for fans to enjoy.
In addition, fans will also be happy about the included pocket-size pamphlet, original deluxe booklet, and special pin-up set. All this goodness comes in a box specially drawn by character designer Takashi Takeuchi.
Even with the exception of this announcement, The Garden of Sinners continues to be talked about. Recently announced is a screening event to be held at which the staff will provide commentary on the film as attendees watch it. Also, in celebration of the Blu-ray and DVD, all seven chapters of the movies released so far will be shown in their entirety on Nico Nico Douga on Nov. 27. This marathon will be broken up into 13 chronological episodes that follow the story of Shiki and Mikiya. This is a good chance to enjoy this long series once again.
