
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, the newest animated work in the Gundam series that has been produced since 2010 and spans seven episodes, will come to its conclusion in 2014. It was announced on Nov. 20 that the series’ last episode, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn: Episode 7 - Over the Rainbow, will be coming to theaters in Japan in 2014.
At the same time the film is in theaters, moviegoers will be able to purchase advance copies of the Blu-ray. Due to this being the finale of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, the story to which is written by Harutoshi Fukui, it is sure to be bathed in attention from fans.
Befitting of the finale, Episode 7 is being made on a larger scale than previous episodes. The film is 90 minutes long, a fitting run time for being screened in theaters, and fans won’t want to miss it. Furthermore, the movie will be released in 35 theaters throughout Japan, from as far north as Sapporo to as far south as Okinawa. In addition, the two-week screening period that was used for episodes thus far has been extended to four weeks for Episode 7. Those who have seen previous episodes will surely be satisfied with this change, and it may give the chance for even more people to enjoy it in theaters.
In Episode 7, the story surrounding Laplace’s Box, the biggest secret of the Universal Century, and the Unicorn Gundam will finally come to a climax. The location of Laplace’s Box is revealed to be where everything first started: Industrial 7. Martha Vist Carbine, head of the Vist Foundation, blazes through the base in an effort to stop the situation. Meanwhile, Banagher is hot on the trail of Full Frontal who tried to steal Laplace’s Box. We are curious to see how this fight will end.
