On Sept. 21, a TV anime adaptation of Churi Arai’s manga Mikakunin de Shinkōkei, currently serialized in Manga 4-Koma Palette (Ichijinsha), was announced. At the same time, the main cast and staff of the anime were revealed. The anime is bringing together a popular cast and the popular anime studio Dogakobo.
Mikakunin de Shinkōkei follows Kobeni Yonomori who lives a very ordinary life. The work is a slapstick comedy in which Kobeni’s fiance Hakuya Mitsumine, sister-in-law Mashiro Mitsumine, and her older sister Benio Yonomori (who has a sister complex) all live together.
A fresh cast of seiyū have been appointed to the roles of the main characters. This includes Haruka Terui as Kobeni, Eriko Matsui as Benio, and Yuri Yoshida as Mashiro. Also joining the cast as the male character Hakuya is Wataru Hatano.
The staff on the anime are well-versed in bishoujo characters and slice-of-life anime and have worked on creating countless hits. The up-and-coming director Yoshiyuki Fujiwara who also worked on GJ-bu is directing the anime and Fumihiko Shimo whose past works include Air and Clannad is in charge of the script. Dogakobo, the well-known anime studio behind such works as YuruYuri and Love Lab, is producing the anime.
An event being held in commemoration of the anime adaptation will also be broadcast on Nico Nico Live on Oct. 20. Terui, Matsui, and Yoshida are planned to make appearances and a promotional video for the anime will be screened for the first time.
Also, comments from the seiyū playing the three main characters regarding the anime adaptation have been released. Since this is Yoshida’s anime debut, we look forward to her performance.
Haruka Terui:
