In celebration of the Pokémon series’ latest games Pokémon X and Pokémon Y releasing Oct. 12 worldwide, the original anime Pokémon: The Origin, inspired by the original Pokémon games Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue (known as Pokémon Green in Japan) will be broadcast in Japan.
The powerful trio OLM, Production I.G, and Xebec have eagerly teamed up once again to produce the work. On Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., the special program will broadcast via TV Tokyo. Now, the main cast and music details have been revealed.
Junko Takeuchi is voicing Red, Takuya Eguchi is voicing Green, Katsuji Mori is voicing Professor Oak, and Tomokazu Sugita will be voicing Brock. The anime will include music used in Red and Blue as well as music created by Game Freak and Shota Kageyama, the sound director of X and Y.
Furthermore, the music of Pokémon: The Origin will be included in the soundtrack album Nintendo 3DS Pokémon X and Y Super Music Collection releasing on Nov. 13 for 2,625 yen. With over 200 tracks, it truly is a “super music collection,” and for many seasoned trainers, it will be fun to listen to the nostalgic music of Red and Blue together with the new music of X and Y.
