Broadcast information has been released on the TV anime White Album 2, which will begin broadcasting during the fall 2013 anime season. The first broadcast we be on Tokyo MX at 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. Thereafter, it will be broadcast on Mainichi Broadcasting and TV Aichi on Oct. 7, BS11 on Oct. 9, AT-X on Oct. 10, and other networks to follow. The anime is also planned to begin broadcasting on Nico Nico Live at 11:00 p.m. on Oct. 8.
White Album 2 is based on the PS3 visual novel game White Album 2: Shiawase no Mukougawa, which was released by Aquaplus. The game’s two main heroines who are struggling through adolescence and the lyrical music have captured many players. Aquaplus is a game maker that has created many renowned titles including To Heart and Utawarerumono. The company is also helping out on all aspects of the anime.
Fumiaki Maruto, original writer of the game version of White Album 2, will be the series composer and scriptwriter on the anime. The anime’s music will be arranged by Aquaplus’ Shuntaro Kobayashi who has a vast amount of experience. Directing the anime will be Masaoki Andō of Total Eclipse fame. The anime is being produced by Satelight, the same company responsible for Senki Zesshō Symphogear G and Bodacious Space Pirates.
The cast from the game will be reprising their respective roles for the anime. Main character Haruki Kitahara will be voiced by Takahiro Mizushima ( Muromi-san ). The two heroines, Setsuna Ogiso and Kazusa Touma, will be voiced by Madoka Yonezawa ( K-On! ) and Hitomi Nabatame ( DokiDoki! PreCure ), respectively. Other cast members include Takuma Terashima, Ikumi Nakagami, Noriaki Sugiyama, Yūki Kaji, and Rio Natsuki.
The story of White Album 2 centers around the activities of a light music club. Of course, fans can expect to hear plenty of music and the voice cast displaying their singing abilities in the anime as well.
