TV anime Coppelion, the anime adaptation of Tomonori Inoue’s sci-fi action manga, will start broadcasting this fall. The anime recently gathered attention when voice stars Haruka Tomatsu, Kana Hanazawa, and Satomi Akesaka were announced as the main cast. Following up, further members of the voice cast were announced, all popular stars who are likely to attract fans.

The newly announced members include Kenichi Suzumura from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny as Haruto Kurosawa, Yui Horie from Little Bastards! as Kanon Ozu, Maaya Sakamoto from Ouran High School Host Club as Shion Ozu, and Rikiya Koyama from Wolverine for Onihei Mishima. They are all competent voice actors who have played main characters in various anime, and who will bring liveliness to the show along with the formerly announced Haruka Tomatsu (Ibara Naruse), Kana Hanazawa (Aoi Fukasaku), and Satomi Akesaka (Taeko Nomura).

Also, the video that was screened in advance at Japan Expo in France on July 4, became the newest PV and was uploaded to the official website. The media expansion surrounding the show targets the entire world with screening events held in America and France. Through this, fans can confirm the astonishing quality of the anime before its television airing. From here on, activities in both Japan and overseas are anticipated.

Coppelion began serialization in Kodansha’s Young Magazine in 2008. Later on, it moved to Monthly Young Magazine and has been ongoing ever since, with 18 volumes already published. The title “Coppelion” refers to children with strong resistance who were born as a result of gene manipulation. It is also the name of an organization that was formed by these children, the Ground Self-Defense Force’s Third Division Special Force. The manga takes place in a near future Japan, and it depicts the activities of three Coppelion girls who save people who have remained at the old capital that was devastated due to a power plant accident. Production of an anime series was announced in 2010, and three years later, the anime adaptation is finally coming along. The long-awaited anime will begin airing this fall. We can’t wait to hear about the upcoming staff information.
