Kyousogiga, a unique anime project that started as goods from Banpresto and Toei Animation, is finally becoming a TV anime. It was announced on July 27 that the first season will begin broadcasting this fall. Since the anime was decided on, the production staff and voice cast from the original internet work that has over 1 million views are returning. Even though this is the freshly picked 25-year-old director Rie Matsumoto’s debut series, he demonstrates why Toei Animation is so proud of him.
Kyousogiga is set in a parallel Kyoto in which time has stopped, and a story unfolds around abundantly unique characters. The character goods produced between Banpresto and the long-standing Toei Animation are the first collaboration project between the companies. In addition to their collaboration being a first, their method of developing the products is also unique. The impressively voluminous amount of products are being distributed online. The new anime is also being developed in a unique way, as there will be no sale of the TV broadcast, movies, or video software. The first part began in December 2011, and five episodes focusing on the characters were distributed in 2012. It has become so well known that the videos have broken through 1 million views. Due to this popularity, the series is finally advancing into becoming a TV anime.
A popular secret is that the visuals get their sense from the overwhelmingly unique way in which the series has been produced. Bringing this into reality is the young director, Rie Matsumoto. Matsumoto was bathed in attention for his work on HeartCatch PreCure the Movie: Fashion Show in the Flower Capital... Really?!.
The TV series for Kyousogiga will span 10 episodes in addition to two compilation episodes and one special episode for 13 episodes in total. Information on the networks broadcasting the anime will be announced at a later date.
In additional news, it has already been decided that events will be held moving toward the start of the broadcast. These will take place on Sept. 1 at Makuhari Messe during Chara Hobby 2013 and on Sept. 8 during Tokyo International Manga Anime Fair 2013.
