The TV anime Monogatari Series Second Season will kick off this month, and a short PV for the first work of the season, Nekomonogatari (White), has been released on the anime’s official site. The PV features a mysterious monologue and facial expressions from the story’s heroine, Hanekawa Tsubasa, along with the phrase “A story of betrayal.” Even though short, the PV packs in several curious points.
Monogatari Series Second Season is the newest work in the Monogatari series, which began with Bakemonogatari. This season will cover six works from Isin Nisio’s original light novel series: Nekomonogatari (White), Kabukimonogatari, Hanamonogatari, Otorimonogatari, Onimonogatari, and Koimonogatari. Each work will have a different heroine, including the familiar Senjougahara Hitagi and Sengoku Nadeko, and their feelings will be depicted in detail.
The main staff from previous installments in the series have been assembled for this second season, including director Akiyuki Shinbo and character designer and chief art director Akio Watanabe. The anime is once again being produced by Shaft and is being developed with the aim to deliver even higher quality content than before.
The ending theme to the anime will be a collaboration song between singer Luna Haruna and creator Jin (Shizen no Teki P) called “Ai wo Utae.” Out of all the new anime premiering this summer, this is one to definitely keep an eye on.
