Broadcast details for the second season of the 2011 TV anime Maken-Ki! have been decided. The new season is titled Maken-Ki! Two and will begin this winter. Also the 11th volume of the original manga of the series will release on Sept. 30. The limited edition of this volume will include a Blu-ray with an OVA created by the staff of the second season. A sneak-peek screenshot was also revealed which shows new developments for the second season.

The limited edition’s Blu-ray features the episode titled “Takeru Nyotaika!? Minami no Shima Desu Po~n.” The episode is about the main character Ohyama Takeru unfortunately becoming a girl. From the screenshot, it’s implied that the content will be no less extreme than before. The limited edition is only available by pre-order and can be pre-ordered until July 18 for 3,990 yen.

Furthermore, on Dec. 27, a Blu-ray box of the first season will be released with various special bonuses for 29,400 yen (tax included). First will be a Blu-ray of the DVD included in the eighth volume of the manga. Fans can also enjoy all six episodes of “Doki Doki! Maken-Ki! Himitsu no Kunren,” which were including in limited edition software. The box is also specially illustrated by character designer Yuki Nobuteru. Other bonuses will include a color illustration gallery and various other content.

Maken-Ki! was originally a manga created by Hiromitsu Takeda that is currently serialized in Monthly Dragon Age. Staff changes have been made for the second season of the anime. Hiraku Kaneko is directing and Akio Takami is in charge of character design. Continuing from the first season, Yousuke Kuroda is in charge of the screenplay.

The three staff members previously mentioned were a group of talent Takeda hoped to have as members of the production team. Anticipation is mounting for an even more climactic season.

As opposed to the staff, the voice cast has not been changes. Protagonist Ohyama Takeru is being voiced by Tomoaki Maeno and heroine Amaya Haruko is being voiced by Noriko Shitaya. So fans can look forward to hearing familiar voices!
