Earlier this spring, the rumored newest game in the Tekken series was revealed. Now, that game, titled Tekken Revolution, has finally been released. This online-only game launches today (June 11) in North America and tomorrow (June 12) in Japan.
The biggest surprise with this game is that it is free to play, so there is no need to buy any software! This is really quite surprising. The game has an Online Mode for battling against other players and an Arcade Mode for battling solo against the computer. Playing these modes for a certain amount of time will net players coins which they can use to deepen their game experience. For those who say, “I don’t want to wait to stockpile coins, I want to play the game more now!” premium coins can also be purchased in-game. Furthermore, those who play the game everyday for a certain period will receive “gift points.” By saving up a certain amount of coins, players can unlock new characters, win fight money, and more.
The game is also equipped with a new component seen for the first time in a classic fighting game. This is a leveling system in which characters can be trained and their abilities made stronger. Each character has three parameters that can be trained: Power, Toughness, and Spirit. Players are free to dish out Skill Points they receive after battles on upgrading these three parameters to create characters with skills and abilities to their liking.
That’s not all! For the first time in Tekken history, this game also features special moves for each character. These moves are carried out with a flurry of flashy effects! These moves come in two types, the first being Critical Arts. Critical Arts are special moves that have a fixed probability of being a critical hit. This probability can be upped by training characters. The other type of special move is Special Arts. These powerful moves turn the character invincible for a short time when carried out.
On the control side of things, the difficulty of the command inputs used in the series up until now has been reevaluated so that even beginners will be able to more easily get the hang of them. Basically, with Tekken Revolution, the series is more gorgeous than ever and easier to play than ever. Speaking of the visuals, they have been dramatically upgraded, meaning that your favorite characters look more beautiful than ever before!
Tekken Revolution is planned to be updated frequently, so in order to find out what new features or game components will be included, you will have to play the game yourself!
