This July, Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei: The Animation will begin broadcasting in Japan. From June 1-9 in Kyoto Marui, the limited time store event “Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen School Store in Kyoto Marui” was held. At this limited time shop, enjoyable plans showing various aspects of the work were prepared in great number and themed items were sold.

Among the most notable parts of the event were the collaborative sweets between Japanese-style Kyoto confectionery shops and Danganronpa. The popular shops shared ideas, and numerous Danganronpa-themed sweets were available. From Kashidokoro Kyohimiko was ”This is the Answer! Kusamochi” and from Kaorikura was “Saionjike Purveyor Candy.” All the Kyoto-like Japanese confections conveyed the world of Danganronpa. For a bit of variety, “Monokuma Kibo no Milk to Zetsubou no Kurogoma,” “Komeda Nagito Kibou no Kakera Pistachio,” and more were made from Milkissimo, a superior italian gelato Japanese company. The flavors were made to match the characters inspired by them. Included with each treat was a coaster illustrated with a character. Fans were happy to see that the designs varied by the shop.

Furthermore, on the first day of the event, Yoshinori Terasawa, the producer of the original game series Danganronpa, held an autograph session at the shop.

In 2012, the PSP game and original work Danganronpa Kibou no Gakuen to Zetsubou no Koukousei released. In 2012, the sequel Super Danganronpa 2 Sayonara Zetsubou Gakuen released. Even more zeal can be seen for the series as the summer broadcast of Danganronpa approaches.
