Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo was crowded with fans on the first day of the “Big Dengeki Bunko Exhibition” held from April 27 to May 10. Before relaxingly viewing the exhibit, fans could obtain limited goods and many fans could be seen quickly heading for the merchandise area.

Pre-orders were accepted for reproduced key animations of famous scenes from 18 titles including Oreimo and The Devil Is a Part-Timer! autographed by famous authors and illustrators. The prints were sold for 21,000 yen each (tax included). Despite the hefty price tag, the line instantly grew once the exhibit opened. Fans were also able to just view each of the key animations on display.

Many attendees were seen with a Dengeki manju or chocolate stick in hand for 945 yen and 630 yen, respectively (tax included). With the air of a premium product, the packages were printed with popular characters from Dengeki Bunko. The Dengeki manju included nine manju, so many attendees purchased them as a souvenir. The Magi cup for 1,050 yen (tax included) has the same print and is perfect for sipping coffee or tea while reading.

T-shirts of five popular works including Oreimo and A Certain Magical Index were also available for 3,990 yen each (tax included). The cute The Irregular at Magic High School white T-shirts featured a simple argyle design and a chibi Shiba Miyuki.

Other popular items were straps and keychains for 840 yen and 986 yen, respectively. The Shakugan no Shana keychain features Shana reaching out her hand. Also, the Golden Time strap features heroine Kaga Kouko giving a mature expression and may unintentionally startle you.

Many attendees were carrying around tapestries and clear files which were sold for 1,575 yen and 368 yen, respectively (tax included). All 16 different clear files were brimming with each characters’ charm. It seemed difficult to only choose a few clear files to purchase from this lineup. The Irregular at Magic High School tapestry displays a heartwarming illustration of the calm expression of Tatsuya and Miyuki joking with one another.

The fans that first waited in line for goods later on returned to enjoy the exhibit. The Dengeki Cafe was also crowded with visitors snacking on collaborative food items of each work.
