TV Anime “The Flowers of Evil” Event “Hana ga Saitayo Assembly: Vol. 2” to Be Held on June 2!

“The Flowers of Evil: Hana ga Saitayo Assembly”

On April 27, an event for the currently airing anime The Flowers of Evil called “The Flowers of Evil: Hana ga Saitayo Assembly” was held in Ginza, Tokyo. Participating in the event were director Hiroshi Nagahama, original author Shuzo Oshimi, and Shinichiro Ueda (the voice of Kazuga Tagao). Also joining in were Mariya Ise (the voice of Nagamura Sawa), sound regulator Yasuhiro Nakura, and Katsutoshi Matsuzaki (the voice of Yamada) as the chairman of the assembly.

Each member talked about their thoughts regarding the anime, how an anime came about for the manga, which is serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and the range of the much talked-about technique of rotoscoping in anime. Director Nagahama evaluated his initial drawings utilizing the technique as being an “atrocious quality” and spoke openly about the hardships of tracing work.

The second event for this anime will be held on June 2, continuing to provide a forum where fans, producers, and the voice cast can intermingle. Participating in the event on the music side will be BGM composer Hideyuki Fukasawa, singer Asako Shinozaki from the band Uchujin, who produced the four versions of the anime’s theme song, and Asa-Chang, who performed the talked-about ending theme.
