The seventh DVD of the slow life anime Peeping Life will be released on June 25. This new DVD is titled “Peeping Life Tezuka Pro Tatsunoko Pro Wonderland.”
This anime is a joint effort and dream collaboration between two long-standing anime production companies: Tezuka Productions and Tatsunoko Productions. The work features famous characters known by all and surreal comedy.
Two anime worlds have been mixed by these big production companies working together, and the anime features appearances by both of the companies’ popular characters. What happens when Astro Boy hits puberty? Or when the Genie family becomes stylish? Or when Black Jack meets Boyacky (the villain from Yatterman)? This show features situations you wouldn’t normally be able to think up.
In addition to these, this show features other generation-crossing characters from masterpiece works that are still loved today, including Shinzo Ningen Casshern, Speed Racer, Princess Knight, The Three-Eyed One, Triton of the Sea, and more. Of course, the Peeping Life series has characteristic power of its own, so even those who don’t know of these characters can still enjoy it.
Much the same as previous installments in the series, this new DVD is recommended for a wide audience. The price of this DVD has been set at 1,575 yen (tax included).
Furthermore, on the official YouTube anime channel AnimeBancho, an episode not included on the DVD can be seen. The distribution of works on AnimeBancho’s channel, which has over 20,000 subscribers, has exceptional public appeal. The fact that anyone can watch their videos for free is surely tied to their acquisition of new fans.
Peeping Life began in 2008 as a mini series broadcast on TV. In 2009, the first DVD for the work was released. Since then, its popularity has spread by word of mouth and the series has become popular, selling over 450,000 DVDs in total.
