On May 11, to the excitement of many, the Ichiban Kuji series “Super Sonico: More Power!!” began being sold in Akihabara. Shops all throughout Akiba began selling the series, including Gamers, Box Hobby Tengoku, Adores, Lammtarra, Kotobukiya, and all other anime and game shops. Among staff members at the stores were those saying, “The contents are making people take notice of Akiba even more.” The series seems to be really heating up Akiba. On the day the series went on sale, there was a considerably strong downpour of rain, but this didn’t deter customers. At Box Hobby Tengoku, there were cosplayers doing PR, as well as other rather powerful promotional activities being carried out.
A promotion that gained particularly high attention and was a huge success was the “Ichiban Kuji Super Sonico: More Power!! Huge Raffle Meetup!” held at Gamers. Participants were able to get one entry into the lottery with five ticket stubs. In addition to prizes given out to winners from first place to fourth place, Sonico postcards were prepared for everyone who entered the raffle. Participants were even able to choose their favorite postcard from six varieties.
Let’s take a look at the results of someone who entered this Ichiban Kuji 10 times (please be noted that prizes are completely random and this outcome isn’t necessarily indicative of a normal outcome). This person won one each of Prizes A, B, and C, four of Prize E, two of Prize F, and one of Prize G. Judging from this lucky person’s winnings, Ichiban Kuji being known as a “no-lose character lottery” really seems to ring true.
