“Fujiko F. Fujio Exhibition,” an event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Fujiko F. Fujio’s work, will be held in Tokyo Tower from July 19 to October 6.
The event will be using the whole of Tokyo Tower, including its big viewing platform and event space, with the concept of “Connecting to the future!” Interactive displays are also planned, such as the “Sukoshi Fushigi Theater” (temporary name), where attendees can experience Fujiko F. Fujio’s world through Japan’s first indoor 4D projection mapping, and the “Narikiri Kyara Hiroba,” where attendees can take pictures with popular characters from Fujio’s work.
At this event, Shoutaiyou, a hand-drawn, original manga booklet Fujiko F. Fujio and Fujiko Fujio A drew in their teens, will be exhibited in public for the first time. It is also planned that for the occasion of Fujiko F. Fujio's birthday anniversary, 80 life-size Doraemons with different facial expressions and secret gadgets will be placed in various areas of the tower. There will also be a display of original drawings, screening of the early monochrome anime version of Obake no Q-tarou, and limited edition goods will also be sold.
