It has been announced that the Blu-ray and DVD of 009 Re:Cyborg to be released on May 22 will also include a new film called “009 Re:Cyborg Special Prologue.” This 9-minute short film will cover the history of the series, from Shotaro Ishinomori’s original work Cyborg 009 to Kenji Kamiyama’s reboot 009 Re:Cyborg. The “Special Prologue” film will be narrated by Sakiko Tamagawa, the voice of Ivan, and will explain in an easy to understand way the series’ story and characters. In addition to the new explanation of the original work, the charm of the reboot will also be condensed into this 9-minute film. You can say that this special feature is the perfect preparation for watching 009 Re:Cyborg.
Cyborg 009 is a famous work that has spawned many anime adaptations. However, it is likely that many young anime fans are unfamiliar with the series. This special feature is optimal for these types of fans.
