Fans celebrated the 30th anniversary of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross in 2012 with various events and related product releases. Now, fans can look forward to the 1994 work Macross Plus being revitalized as a Blu-ray Box releasing this summer on June 21.
The “Macross Plus Complete Blu-ray Box” includes four OVAs and the complete theatrical film, as well as bonus footage and materials of the work. The theatrical film has been updated with 5.1 surround sound, which fully pacts the film with appeal.
In celebration of the Blu-ray Box, the Macross series’ theatrical films will be screened in cinemas throughout Japan. This May, the “Macross Film Festival Spring 2013” will be held in five theaters. The four-film lineup includes Macross Plus Movie Edition, as well as the first film Macross: Do You Remember Love?, and the films Macross Frontier the Movie: The False Songstress and Macross Frontier the Movie: The Wings of Goodbye from the latest TV series. If you're visiting Japan in May, this is your chance to experience the intense battle scenes and famous music of Macross on the big screen with the best sound!
