“Oshare Macross 7” is coming to Shinjuku Marui Annex from Friday, Oct. 17 to Wednesday, Nov. 5. “Oshare Macross” events have been held 15 times throughout Japan, and the Oshare Macross 7 collaboration shop will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Macross 7 and Macross Plus. In time with the decision to open the store, a specially drawn key visual by Macross 7’s character designer, Haruhiko Mikimoto, has been released.
The key visual for Oshare Macross 7 features the enthusiastic Basara, main character of Macross 7, and heroine Mylene Jenius. The execution of this artwork by Mikimoto who is so familiar to the series is a must-see for fans. This time as well, there will be a lineup of countless goods at the shop located in the sixth floor Space One in Shinjuku Marui Annex. Just what kind of products will the store carry? New information will be announced on the Macross portal site once it becomes available.
Encore press Blu-ray box sets for Macross 7 and Macross Plus will also be released at the store. Box 1 and 2 of Macross 7 are each loaded with, of course, a booklet and illustration collection, as well as a score collection and other bonuses befitting of the series. There is also newly recorded audio commentary as well as bonus video content that packs in the charms of the show. These cost 28,000 JPY each (tax not included). The first volume of Macross Plus will come with a 100-page handbook and a 32-page original art collection. Its full lineup of content also includes a three-way discussion between chief director Shoji Kawamori, director Shinichiro Watanabe, and writer Keiko Nobumoto. Moreover, the Blu-ray also has other noteworthy finishing touches including upgraded 5.1-channel audio, the same as the movie. This volume costs 17,000 JPY (tax not included). These encore press editions will only be produced until April 23, 2015 and they will be released mid next month.
