From March 1-31 at the event and shopping area @btf in Kachidoki, Tokyo, a tribute art exhibit for Space Brothers was held.
Space Brothers is a moving story about two unique brothers who make a promise when they are young to both become astronauts and the struggles they face in trying to realize their dream. The story is about the bonds of family and friends and the importance of dreams. The manga is currently serialized in Weekly Morning and has sold roughly 11 million copies. The series has been adapted into an animation and a live-action movie.
Forty-two artists who are active in different genres participated in the exhibit to pay tribute to Space Brothers. The exhibit featured illustrations, figures, stuffed animals, and more on display. Also on display were valuable original drawings, colored illustrations by Chuya Koyama and storyboards from the animation version of Space Brothers. Each artist represented their own version of Space Brothers with their art.
Many fans from all over Japan gathered at the event. The total number of attendees for the event reached 1,200.
