On April 15, pre-orders for the “Fascinating Subtitle T-Shirt Series,” which is being made to commemorate Tsuburaya Productions’ 50th anniversary, began on Bandai’s official online shop, Premium Bandai.
The series features T-shirts that contain the characteristic subtitles of Tsuburaya Productions’ early works. Two T-shirts have been announced so far for the series. One contains the subtitle “Shoot the Invader” from episode 2 of Ultraman in which Alien Baltan is debuted and the other contains the subtitle “Nonmalt the Messenger” from episode 42 of Ultra Seven in which the truth of war is revealed. More titled are anticipated for this T-shirt series after June.
Established in 1963, Tsuburaya Productions started producing entirely original content with the 1966 broadcast of Ultra Q. In the 50 years since then, Tsuburaya Productions has positioned itself as the leader in Japanese special effects movie. One charm of Ultra Q is the show’s subtitles, such as “The Battle of 2020” and “A Gift from Mars,” which overflow with sci-fi appeal.
