A Blu-ray and DVD release of the anime Arata: The Legend, which began airing on April 8, has already been announced. The first volume of the six-volume set will be released on June 21. After that, one volume will be released each month.
Volume 1 contains the first two episodes: “Arata’s Fate” and “Hayagami.” The story follows a high school student named Arata who is betrayed by a close friend, as well as an Arata from another world who is framed for a heinous crime, and it depicts their interweaving fates.
Various bonuses are also being prepared for the Volume 1 Blu-ray and DVD. Video bonuses include the animated drama “The Midnight Call of Arata and Arata,” footage from an Arata event, and PVs for the anime. Other bonuses include an 8-page booklet and two kinds of illustration cards. The booklet contains character illustrations by Yuu Watase and other must-see content for fans.
The jacket for the Blu-ray and DVD features an original illustration drawn by character designer Kagetsu Aizawa. The Blu-ray will cost 6,300 yen and the DVD will cost 5,250 yen (both prices include tax).
