Mirai Mizue is a Japanese animator who is active worldwide and whose works have been screened in the Orizzonti category at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. In order to complete his new animation Wonder, which he has been working on for the last year, drawing over 8,760 picture for it, a crowdfunding project began on Kickstarter on March 30.
At the same time the project started, a trailer for Wonder that features music from Pascals, the acoustic orchestra group in charge of the music for the work, was released.
Funding for the project starts at $1. As thanks to those who contribute, special gifts are being given out depending on how much is contributed. The gifts include the ability to see the work online, an original drawing, a DVD, a specially drawn poster and video, an originally designed watch, and more.
As of April 29, the project has already accumulated 175 supporters and over $14,000 in funding. In addition to pictures introduced by Mizue himself on the Kickstarter page for the project, a synopsis of the work is available on the official site. For those who are interested, check out both below.
