Commemorative Event Held for Release of Wii U Version of “Dragon Quest X”

In commemoration of the release of Dragon Quest X: Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku Online on the Wii U, from March 30-31, the first fan event for the game, called “Dragon Quest X Spring Festival,” was held in Akihabara, Tokyo at UDX Akiba Square. The game’s staff and creator attended and announced several new episodes to expand the game.

At the stage show “Developer 1st Stage” on March 30, the reason why the main characters become a “tribe” was discussed in detail. A lot of attention was also focused on Akira Toriyama, the character designer for the Dragon Quest series.

Expansions to Dragon Quest X were also announced at the event. Announcements included “Myth Arc” going from its Ver. 1.4 to a full-blown start and a new continent called Lendarcia to be included in Ver. 2.0. Lendarcia will be similar to other continents introduced in the game thus far.
