The fan event “Basara Fest 2013 Spring Team” for Capcom’s Sengoku Basara series was held on March 30 in Ryogoku Kokugikan, Tokyo. This event is so popular among fans that the tickets sell out right away.
Besides the intense action of the stage cast, the event had various other programs, such as a talk show with the voice cast and a game segment. Especially since the talk show had scenes of strong content, such as them drinking alcohol, the audience was very excited as well.
In the performance segment, Takanori Nishikawa went on stage in a costume based on traditional Japanese clothes and sang “Naked Arms,” the opening to the game Sengoku Basara 3.
In addition, the release of Sengoku Basara 4 was announced. The moment the announcement was made, the hall filled with the loudest shouts of joy. The newest game in the series will be released in early 2014 for the PlayStation 3. The official site for the game opened on April 1.
Other announcements included the publication of Sengoku Basara Magazine, a magazine solely dedicated to Sengoku Basara, and the release of two best-of albums titled “Sengoku Basara Eastern Army Best” and “Sengoku Basara Western Army Best” that are compiled from the original soundtracks. A clip of Takarazuka Revue’s musical “Sengoku Basara - Yukimura Sanada” was also featured, showing a charm different from that of the games and anime.
A Sengoku Basara stage event called “Sengoku Basara Commander Fest 2013” is also scheduled for July 13-14. Twenty-seven performers are already lined up for the event which will include programs such as original action scenes, behind-the-scenes stories, and a variety segment.
At the end of the event, all the performers went on stage and closed the event by shouting, “Sengoku Basara Fest Banzai!”
