The TV anime Tokyo Tribe 2, an adaption of Santa Inoue’s original manga Tokyo Tribe, will be made into a live-action film. Sion Sono is producing the film Tokyo Tribe with the aim to release it next year. Sono is known for producing Love Exposure, Cold Fish, and other popular films.
Tokyo Tribe 2 is a sequel to Tokyo Tribe and was serialized in the fashion magazine Boon from 1997-2005. It was extremely popular for its portrayal of a fictitious Tokyo. The manga has fans from around the world and has been published in Hong Kong, Taiwan, America, France, Spain, and Italy.
An unheard-of event is being held for the live-action adaptation. With the catch phrase, “Do you want to appear in Sion Sono’s film!?,” auditions for the film are being accepted via YouTube.
Applicants are only asked to upload a demo video. Viewers can also participate by visiting the official site and using a special button to let the producer know which auditions they like. The applications do not have any specific requirements for gender, nationality, or experience, so no matter who you are, as long as you are confident, definitely give it a go!
