Sanrio will begin publishing a children’s book series in China that has currently been published within Japan featuring the first of many cute characters they created, the worldwide adored Hello Kitty.
As for this advancement into the Chinese market, Creek and River is in charge of developing a publication of the Sanrio character similar to those in Japan, and the translation licensing contract will be between KT Licensing and KT Licensing Shanghai. Currently, the need for Sanrio characters within China’s marketplace has risen, so it’s anticipated the series will be in high demand.
In 1990, Creek and River was established in Tokyo, and in 2010 formed the Shanghai local subsidiary Creek and River Shanghai. In 2012, a Beijing office was created, and in more recent years, cooperation with the China subsidiaries has deepened.
The first part will include 14 titles and release this month. The work will increase thereafter, and within a year, 34 titles are planned to be published.
