From March 9 to April 7, the “Hatsune Miku Illustration and Art Exhibit feat. Precious Memories” was held at the “Tokyo Anime Center with Aru Aru City” in the Akihabara UDX Building. The event was held in celebration of Hatsune Miku being the first Vocaloid character included in the trading card game Precious Memories.
There were gorgeous illustrations of Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin and Len, Megurine Luka, Kaito, and Meiko throughout the exhibit. Those walking through the exhibit seemed to be in complete delight during their entire visit.
The best part of all was the vastly impressive, life-size Hatsune Miku figure that was located just in front of the exhibit’s entrance. The excellent workmanship certainly made it feel as if Miku herself had lept from the screen and into our world, and made fans gasp in wonder.
Vocaloid goods were also sold at a shopping space located within the exhibit. Standard Graphig papercraft goods, clear files, tumblers, and Happi (traditional Japanese coats) were being sold. Numerous fans could be heard happily shouting, “I emptied my wallet!”
One wall was covered with notes written by fans. With such a wide area covered, it was clear how much fans support Hatsune Miku. What will be the next step for the world-famous, virtual diva Hatsune Miku? We certainly don’t want to miss a beat and look forward to seeing more from Miku!
