Release Dates for 20th Season DVDs of “Nintama Rantaro” Announced

The popular anime Nintama Rantaro continues to be broadcast despite 20 years having passed since its broadcast first began in 1993. Now, the release dates of the DVDs for the series’ 20th season has been announced. Seven volumes will be released, all priced at 6,090 yen.

Volume 1, titled “Stage One,” will be released on May 29. After that, one volume will be released each month: “Stage Two” on June 26, “Stage Three” on July 24, “Stage Four” on Aug. 28, “Stage Five” on Sept. 25, “Stage Six” on Oct. 23, and “Stage Seven” on Nov. 27. The first editions of each volume will come with a limited booklet as a bonus item. Those who purchase all seven volumes will receive a specially illustrated DVD case that holds all seven volumes.

Nintama Rantaro is a long-running anime that is a staple on NHK. The story follows a ninja named Rantaro and his friends, Kirimaru and Shinbee, and depicts the everyday lives of these ninjas in training. It’s a feel good comedy that even parents can enjoy. The anime’s long-held theme song, “Courage 100%,” is now being sung by Sexy Zone, a popular group from Johnny’s talent agency.
