After a two year hiatus, Tecmo Koei Games released the latest game in the Dynasty Warriors series on the PS3 on Feb. 28. Dynasty Warriors 8 (known in Japan as Shin Sangoku Musou 7) features a slew of new characters. Altogether, there are more than 70 characters participating in the war.
Dynasty Warriors is a series of action games that uses the Annals of the Three Kingdoms as its motif.
The series has gained great support from fans due to its easy-to-control game system that gives players an exhilarating sensation of defeating massive enemy armies and the stylishly designed Three Kingdoms characters.
The scenario was also rewritten with episodes based on the new characters that allows for players to enjoy the story from different angles.
New components have been added to the biggest feature of the series, “Musuo Actions,” which make defeating the enemies even more exhilarating. The system has been made with refined consideration so that all types of players, from beginner to pro, can enjoy it on their own level. There is also a new mode called “Commander Mode” in which players take on the role of a nameless commander with the goal of expanding their base. Special leaders and more than 700 fellow soldiers gather in the base, and the interior of the base can even be upgraded.
