The TV anime Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto, which was highly talked about due to its eccentric characters and world, was broadcast from autumn 2010 until spring 2011. This popular work spawned the film adaptation Star Driver: The Movie, which began screening in theaters on Feb. 9, 2013. On Feb. 16, a stage greeting event was held at Osaka Station City Cinema. The voice star of the main character Tsunashi Takuto, Mamoru Miyano, and the film’s director Takuya Igarashi attended the event. As part of the stage greeting, Miyano, together with the audience, performed Takuto’s signature lines and pose called “Dashing Appearance! Galactic Pretty Boy!” Fans really had a great time!
During the stage greeting, Miyano commented, “I saw this work and was brought to tears. They were different tears than being sad or happy; I was in awe of Takuto’s ability to push forward.” Director Igarashi also commented, “While Wako and Sugata were captured in a confined space, Takuto appears and releases them from the seals and the story is brought to a close. In the movie, they are separated for a time, but I think that they will find happiness.”
