Anime “Mushibugyo” to Begin Airing This April on Six Channels

Information on the “Sunday Anime Project” has been coming to light since last year. Possibly the biggest announcement made so far is the news that Mushibugyo is being made into an anime. Many people predicted this development after seeing the work added to the Sunday anime commercial lineup called “Sunday CM Theater” due to the high possibility of works becoming anime after being featured on this lineup.

The broadcast time and channels for Mushibugyo have been announced. The anime will begin in April and will broadcast every Sunday at 6 p.m., which is a perfect time slot for this anime since it is family-oriented. The anime will be broadcast on six stations affiliated with TV Tokyo. However, there is a possibility that the anime will be expanded to more stations.

Mushibugyo is an Edo period samurai action story. The manga began serialization in 2009 in Weekly Shonen Sunday Cho (currently Weekly Shonen Sunday S), and has become one of Weekly Shonen Sunday’s front runners. Currently, the continuation story titled Joju Senjin!! Mushibugyo is serializing.

Mushibugyo may still be relatively unknown, especially overseas, but the series’ debut as an anime might be what catapults its popularity. Look forward to more development from this promising series.
