On Feb. 10, Aoi Eir, the charismatic anime song vocalist who has an extensive fanbase both inside and outside Japan, performed live at the Sapporo Snow Festival.
Her live performance occurred at the Nishi-Juitchome event center as part of the event “[Anison-R~Manga and Anime Research Club] Sapporo Snow Festival Quiz Competition,” which was sponsored by the radio channel FM North Wave. Six hundred fans gathered in the snow to witness her enthusiastic performance, the song list for which included her newest single “Innocence” (the opening theme to the Fairy Dance Arc of Sword Art Online) and her debut single “Memoria” (The ending theme to Fate/Zero). Even though it was the middle of winter, her performance was hot enough to melt the snow.
During the performance, Eir shared her emotions to the crowd of dedicated fans, saying, “This is my hometown, so every year, I come to the Snow Festival!” and, “I’m so happy to be able to sing at the Snow Festival!” Her performance wowed the crowd, and it ended with fans cheering, “Ei, Ei, Ru!”
Eir has been performing a tour in Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo since February; tickets to which sold out in an instant. It’s easy to see that Eir’s popularity is skyrocketing. We’re excited to see how far she will go.
