On Feb. 10, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Wonder Festival 2013 Winter was held. At the event, which is popularly known as WonFes, garage kits, figures, and models of anime and manga characters, vehicles, and weapons were on display. The event also served as a marketplace where attendees could buy new products that caught their eyes.
Two products in particular that picked up attention at WonFes were of characters from Danganronpa. Good Smile Company (GSC) was displaying Nendoroids of Mono Bear and Monomi. Speaking of Nendoroid, it’s a well-known series among figure fans. Aside from these two Nendoroids, GSC will also begin working on figures for Nanami Chiaki and Kirigiri Kyoko. Furthermore, at Takara Tomy A.R.T.S’ booth, Super Danganronpa 2 straps of Mono Bear and Monomi were on display.
Danganronpa is a game series by Spike Chunsoft that blends mystery and high speed action into a never-before-seen genre. The series has picked up great support and popularity to date. As evidence of this, an anime adaptation of the series has been greenlit. For this reason, it seems the series is bound to pick up even more attention. Aside from the products for this series shown at WonFes, it’s likely that there will be even more products in the works to match up with the broadcast of the anime.
