Kotoura-san was a work that flew under the radar until it began broadcasting in January 2013 as part of the winter anime season, at which time it gained a huge following. The main character Kotoura is able to read the minds of other people, but this ability has caused her a great deal of suffering. The anime depicts the relationships she has with her supportive friends. It’s reputation is very good and a whirlwind of praise for it has broken out on the internet. As a result, plans for a Blu-ray and DVD are progressing smoothly.
A CD for the anime’s ending themes (ED) is planned to release on March 20. The CD will include three songs: the main ED “Flower of Hope,” as well as the special EDs “Tsurupeta” and “ESP Club Theme.” There is also a karaoke track included for each song as well as voice tracks on which the characters talk about the anime and songs as if they were holding a meeting for the ESP Club. The first press edition of the CD includes a DVD with a special short anime titled “Hakura’s Room (Episode 6).” The cost of this edition is 1,890 yen, and the cost of the regular edition is 1,365 yen (both prices include tax).
