In January 2013, just after the release of news about the invited special entries to the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, more information came soaring out about this big event. According to news reports, the film festival included collaborative tie-ins with SKY PerfecTV!, which acted as a special sponsor of the entries.
In addition to numerous competitions, the festival, which ran from Feb. 21-25, featured special events as well, such as screenings of several films and live audience tapings, as part of the collaboration with SKY PerfecTV! Also, while the event was being held, BS SKY PerfecTV! broadcast over satellite 42 of the films shown at the film festival across the nation.
The satellite service also broadcast four previous winners in the Off Theatre Competition, along with Keshigomu-ya (2D) from February 3-6, ten films from the Off Theatre Competition from February 21 through the beginning of March, and 27 films from the Forecast Selection.
