Jigoku no Misawa’s Art Used in Hapifami Curry Commercial

It seems that the completely unique character designs of artist Jigoku no Misawa have advanced into the world of commercials. His character designs have been used in a new commercial campaign for SB Food’s Hapifami Curry. The commercial features a surreal quality as two expressionless boys perform an original dance.

Jigoku no Misawa became famous seemingly overnight due to his manga Kakko Kawaii Sengen!, which began serialization in Jump Square magazine in 2010. His manga and unique character designs are especially popular on the internet. His artistic style is immediately recognizable after seeing it once. Furthermore, his special brand of humor builds upon his unique worldview and gives him a firm niche in the manga world.

Jigoku no Misawa’s works may be overflowing with a fresh sense of surrealism, however, his style has actually been around for quite some time. Long ago, he used to create drawings that were used in TV shows. To that extent, the style shown in the commercial is nothing new. However, it is no less intriguing. Interestingly, the name used in the credits is Shikoku no Misawa, however, this doesn’t seem to be a misprint.

The Hapifami Curry commercial featuring the Hapifami dance is now viewable on YouTube. Watch the video and memorize the dance now!
