On Jan. 23, the executive committee for the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) 2013 was held for the second time. The committee brought together their plans for the event, which will take place from March 21-24 in halls 1, 2, and 3 of the East wing of Tokyo Big Sight.
TAF was first held in 2002. This year marks the 12th time the event will be held. This year’s event will include an international trade fair featuring businesses and organizations displaying goods at their booths, stage events, the Tokyo Anime Awards, in which various awards and honors will be given out, and more. The attendance goal for this year’s TAF is 100 thousand.
TAF is divided into two parts: the "Business Day", which is for anime industrial partners to network and discuss partnerships, and the "Public Day", which is open to all. This year’s public day is going to be very exciting due to the business booths and stage events that are planned. TAF 2013 will also feature special plans, displays, and exhibits in celebration of 50 years of TV anime.
Furthermore, this year’s TAF will feature a new cosplay area for cosplayers who want to participate. Various cosplay events have been planned for this area.
